Billy Walton is an accomplished guitar master from the vibrant New Jersey Shore music scene. He earned his stripes in the rock n’ roll trenches, playing lead guitar for many years with Jersey icon, Southside Johnny. He has also shared the stage with music legends; Little Steven, Gary US Bonds and Steven Tyler, to name a few.

The 2024 Jersey Gumbo King was Resorts executive chef, Robert Levenson!! The People’s Choice Award for Best Gumbo went to the talented Executive Chef at Greate Bay Country Club, Dan Luber who shared the honor with the amazing young Chef, Niko Karamanis, from Galloway Casual Dining! Smithville’s Executive Chef Philip Gormley came very close with an excellent gumbo topped with a fried shrimp! Chef Joseph Sheridan from Atlantic Cape Culinary almost took it all with a perfectly balanced and delicious gumbo! Over a dozen of Jersey’s best chefs will compete on Monday afternoon July 21st at THE JERSEY GUMBO COOK OFF AND LOUISIANA MUSIC FESTIVAL starting at 3:00pm. It’s a FREE festival with FREE parking and a world class FREE concert schedule entitled “Louisiana Fiddle, Squeezebox and Guitars” starring the Musical Director, Heather “Lil’ Mama” Hardy on the funky fiddle with her squeezebox player. Four guest star guitarists; Billy Walton, Papa Chubby, Hiro Suzuki from New York City, and Somers Point’s Denny Shiffler from Twisted Livin’ Band, the latest rage on the guitar in South Jersey, will all perform during the course of the 5 hour music festival. Music will begin around 3:30 pm and tastings will begin at 3:00 pm. It’s only $20 for all the gumbo you care to taste. The good vibes and the beautiful ambiance will be provided by The Point Tiki Bar and Night Club on the historic Bayfront in Somers Point at 998 Bay Avenue View on Map. You know the good times will roll Louisiana style with the Jersey Shore vibe of Tony Mart Presents!! Come taste some of the best gumbo ever in New Jersey!  |
